Aww, poor girl. I feel bad that she spent so long on that outfit and they made her take it off. I do get why they did though.

It does suck that she didn't get to wear what she spent so much time on, but to basically throw a temper tantrum about it is ridiculous. She's a 15 year old girl, not a toddler.
She should've checked the policy before putting in all that time. I do feel bad that all her efforts were wasted. Her costume was very well done. Notice: This Ad only show to guest, please register now to disappear !

First, I just want to LOL at the fact that the anchorman is a guy who used to appear on Whose Line is it Anyway.
Now that that's done, it makes sense. I feel bad that she had to lose all her hard work, but is this really newsworthy? I mean, it's park policy. They don't want kids wandering up to strangers to get pictures with them because they look like characters. It's pretty much a liability issue. Who knows what random park attendees will do. Their employees are more trusted. And I think it's really lame that this girl is throwing a tantrum and crying because they made her take off the costume when it didn't comply with park regulations. She's not a toddler. It's not the end of the world that she had to take off the costume. Jeez. That girl needs to grow up. Notice: This Ad only show to guest, please register now to disappear !

I just wanna say that I've had an experience like this before. And I've read this just a few days ago after it was posted on coscom. It's not newsworthy, the only thing that made it newsworthy was her reaction. She should've checked the park rules, because Disneyland/Disneyworld has very strict policies on dressing up as characters. Even if you're cosplaying as something from something non-Disney related, the staff will ask you to change. Think about it: what if you were there and mistook one of the cosplayers (not the actual staff) for somebody that worked there, and asked where a certain place was? What if that person didn't know where that place was and didn't realize you mistook them for staff? What if you didn't realize they weren't staff anyway? Wouldn't you think, "Wow, why would you work here if you don't know where anything is?!" There's been problems like that, and that's not exactly why Disney Parks won't allow costumes but it's mainly to avoid confusion.
Aside from that, many cosplayers try to go through the gates of the park every year. Some pass, some don't. But if your costume is obviously a costume, of course they'd ask you to change. If you're trying to dress up in casual cosplay, like e.g. casual clothes that makes the character you're dressing up as still recognizable even though you're not in a complete costume, they'll most likely let you through the gates like they let me and my friends do (then again, we were in Kingdom Hearts cascos and the guy who let us in was a fan of the games). Honestly, what the girl should've done was respect the park rules and change and not throw a fit about it. Notice: This Ad only show to guest, please register now to disappear !
