Default How to Report

WHY AND WHAT TO REPORT

These are the Site Rules and the site Terms of Service. In addition, each forum section may have their own rules in place.

Security is here to enforce the rules so players have a safe and pleasurable experience playing. But sometimes people break the rules. Staff does not see everything all the time, so we rely on players to report the rule breakers.

Providing as much information as possible (including screenshots, URLs and CYO Timestamps where applicable) will help with the investigation. The quicker the investigation, the faster it will be dealt with. Also, if more information is needed, you will be contacted to provide that information and it will be easier to give the information with your report rather than to try and find/recreate it after the fact.

Do NOT assume someone else has reported it. We would rather have double reports than no reports.

Report and let us deal with it. Do not reply. Do NOT contact the person to tell them they are breaking the rules or that you reported them. That will let them know they are being investigated, allow them to try and cover their tracks, and let them know that you reported them.

You will be contacted when the investigation is complete. You may not be told what punishment was decided upon or how many previous strikes that user had. But that does not mean there wasn't a punishment.

For information on how to create a screenshot, see HERE.

HOW TO REPORT:
There are three methods of reporting.

1) REPORT BUTTON

Look around. There may be a report button for what you want to report. If there is, you need to use that as your reporting method. Some of the required information will be sent automatically.

There are report buttons in different areas of the site. The ones in the forum may appear different from these examples depending on what forum skin you are using. But they will appear similar (look for a ! symbol or the word "report"). If you are not sure if it is the right button or not, hover over the symbol and see if it tells you what it is for.

For a tutorial on how to report a post in the forums using the report button, see HERE.

Here are some examples of Report Buttons:
  • on a post in the forums to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts
  • on a blog post or comment in the forums to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts
  • on some areas like Visitor Messages and Social Group posts to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts

2) REPORT MISCONDUCT FORUM

In the forums, there is a Report Misconduct section under the Voice of the Community forum that is dedicated to reporting. Each subsection is for a different type of offence.

The rules for this section are HERE. Once you post a thread anywhere in this section it will be moderated so that only staff can see the thread. It is still there, but you can no longer see it.

It is important that you read the rules for the specific subsection and provide as much information and proof as possible to help the investigation. This includes URLs and screenshots wherever possible. If you are reporting a CYO violation, it is important that you provide Timestamps for both the original item and the stolen item. The Timestamp proves who uploaded the item first. For how to obtain a CYO Timestamp, see HERE.

3) SUPPORT HELP DESK

If there is not a Report button and the offence does not fall within one of the categories in the Report Misconduct section, please enter a Help Desk ticket. Again, please provide as much information as possible including screenshots if at all possible. If you do not find a category that you feel describes what you are reporting, please choose the one you feel is closest. We want to see your report and do not mind if the category is wrong. Someone will see it and it will be assigned to the correct person.

For how to enter a Help Desk ticket, please click HERE.

Thank you
