How to Delete Temporary Internet Files (Cache)

This tutorial will teach you how to delete your Temporary Internet Files.

Temporary Internet Files
They are like little breadcrumbs that your computer leaves every time you hit the 'back' button so your computer can come back to the page you were looking at. If you surf through a website a lot, like Diva Chix, while shopping, playing the games, surfing the forum, your temporary internet files become too full and that will start causing all kinds of weird glitches in the site.

Deleting Temporary Internet Files
You should delete your Temporary Internet Files daily, especially when you surf on flash game sites. By deleting your Temporary Internet Files, you can avoid glitches.

An example of a glitch that is caused by Temporary Internet Files is stats that do not show correctly or receiving a message that says "This item does not belong to you!" There you are saying to yourself...Of course this item belongs to me, I bought it and it's in my wardrobe, you stupid computer! It can also make your game show the wrong stats or if the site was recently upgraded or a new "patch" made it can make it not load the correct data.

There is no longer a need to get upset at your computer. Just follow the simple steps below, and all your problems are solved!

Deleting your temporary internet files will not delete any important things!

Just those pesky temporary files your computer uses as you surf through website every time you hit the back button.

Deleting Temporary Internet Files: Mozilla Firefox version 3.0
If you are using an earlier version of Mozilla Firefox, your menu will look different. Please refer to the posts and instructions at the end of this post.


Step 1.
Locate and click on the 'Tools' menu tab in your Firefox web browser. It should be at the top of your screen, as shown below.

Step 2.
Click on the 'Options...' menu under the 'Tools' menu tab.

Step 3.
Once you have clicked on the 'Options' menu, you will see a menu like the one below. Click and locate 'Advanced' menu tab, and then click on the 'Network' sub menu, as shown below.

Step 4.
You'll then see a section that says 'Offline Storage', this is where your temporary internet files are stored. You need to click on the 'Clear Now' button to delete your temporary internet files. It will take a few seconds, then click on the 'Ok' button to close the menu.

Congratulations! You have now successfully deleted your temporary internet files.

Earlier Versions of Mozilla Firefox (2.0)
If you are using an older version of Mozilla Firefox, your menu will look a different. Please follow these steps to delete your temporary internet files.

Step 1.
Locate and click on the 'Tools' menu tab in your Firefox web browser. It should be at the top of your screen, as shown below.

Step 2.
Next, click on the 'Clear Private Data' option from the drop down menu.

Step 3.
The following menu will then appear on your screen. Make sure the 'cache' box is checked. Then click on 'Clear Private Data'.

When the box disappears, you have successfully deleted your temporary internet files. Congratulations!

Deleting Temporary Internet Files: Internet Explorer 8.0

Step 1.
Locate and click on the 'Tools' menu tab in your Internet Explorer web browser. It should be at the top of your screen, as shown below.

Step 2.
After you have clicked on 'Tools', click on 'Internet Options' from the drop down menu as shown below.

Step 3.
The following menu will then appear on screen. Under the 'Browsing History' section, click on the 'Delete' button.

Step 4.
A new menu will then appear on screen. Make sure you have the 'temporary internet files' option checked, and then click on 'delete'.

Step 5.
The following box will then appear whilst your system is deleting the temporary internet files. When the box disappears, click on 'Ok'.

Congratulations! You have now successfully deleted your temporary internet files.

Deleting Temporary Internet Files: Google CHROME.

Step 1.
Locate and click on the little wrench in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

Step 2.
After you have clicked on the wrench, click on Settings from the drop down menu as shown below.

Step 3.
The following menu will then appear on screen. Near the bottom, click on the Show Advanced Settings link.

Step 4.
Scroll down just a little and you will see the Privacy area. Click on the Clear Browsing Data button.

Step 5.
The following box will then appear. There is a drop down menu where you can choose how far back you want to delete. There is also a list of things you want deleted. To clear your temp files, you want to make sure that the Empty The cache box is checked.

Then click Clear browsing data. Now wait a few moments, and you are done. You temp files are now clear.
