This is dumb. These kids on facebook had said they were going to bring guns to my school and other types of weapons. The principal was informed and those students were expelled before any casualities could happen. Anyways, now the principal is being more strict. I get it. It's for our safety. But this is stupid. Today we had to dismiss floor by floor, building by building. There are several buildings in this school. My building and floor were one of the last ones dismissed. And then I could not just walk straight to the library from the usual path I take. No. I had to go down the stairs, across the campus to the other building, go up those stairs, and then use the pathway from there. That's so stupid.

Then again... why would anyone even try to bring guns to school? :/ I bet if I told my parents what hapepned, they'd try to pull me out of this school. Just think about it. If these kids had not been total idiots and had not mentioned their plan thro facebook, there would have been a shooting in my school! If there was a shooting in the school, innocents would have been injured or even killed! One of those innocents could have been me.

What is going on with these teenagers that they felt so urged to even think about bringing weapons to school? When I think about this, I think that there must have been something seriously wrong with these teenagers for them to have come to this solution.

Please guys. Say no to guns. Guns aren't the answer. Violence isn't the answer. Why do teenagers in this day feel that they can't solve any disputes without injuring the other party? Where has the day gone where people used to talk about what is bothering them. When did guns become the answer to our generation?

In the other middle school I was before, we had almost 2 weeks of no classes after a 9th grader had brought a gun and threatened an 8th grader for telling an adult.

I think they did. And when classes started, a policeman was brought every day for "security". He'd just spend the entire day sitting by the hot dog cart.

My current school doesn't have a cop for the 7th-9th graders, but a cop comes half an hour before the high school students do.

maybe if the US didn't have such lax gun restrictions this would not be a problem.

I dont even know the gun policies are. But I do think it should be stricter. Just about anyone can own a gun if they have the permit. I think that if there is record of abuse of some sort, the person shouldnt be allowed to bear a gun.

I know stories of sons/daughters of policemen taking their parent's gun to do stuff.

Yeah I know of those too. It's sad when a teenager can access their guardian's weapon. The weapons should be in a secure place.

my school has security guards now.. but all they do is sit in the middleof the hall, stop people from passing through without a pass and taking students to the principal.... i think every school should have at least 1 security guard/policeman just in case and i think owning a gun is scary and how people bring their sons hunting is scary too because its like teaching their son how to shoot something and you never knwo what could happen....

I agree. Pretty scary. but most parents dont think that their kids will use their skills to harm others.
